As with any goal, it is important to share it with the world.  This page outlines the goal. Sunset Ridge Park is the working title for a non-profit organization furthering a mission of personal growth and improvement. Sunset Ridge is a park for relaxation, recreation, inspiration, and creation.

The Vision is a Colorado mountain retreat for relaxation, recreation, inspiration, and creation. Everything is based on a philosophy that is Pro-Peace, Pro-People & Pro-Planet. It is a phased plan that will evolve on a grassy hillside in the Colorado Rockies with your support and participation.  It will unfold as follows:

The story starts with a grassy hill...

The idea starts with a simple park where people can enjoy a picnic and a good sunset.  Of course there are a lot of places in Colorado to enjoy a good sunset, but for some reason Sunset Ridge has especially spectacular sunsets on most days.    The views from the hill are breathtaking.  It's a truly wonderful place to spend time with family and friends.  The public is always welcome to enjoy the park and it's lovely mountain setting.

Sunset Ridge is a park of about 500 acres located about an hour west of Denver, CO.

Mountain vistas are an important part of Sunset Ridge and a big reason why the sunsets are spectacular.  A beautiful setting always enhances a good sunset.

The Hiking Trails

What's a good Colorado mountain park without good trails?   It's an essential part of the experience at Sunset Ridge. Visitors can enjoy miles of ever expanding hiking and biking trails.

For safety, hikers and bikers have separate trails.

Mountain Biking is a must.  Different trails are available to hikers and bikers.

Trails at the park range from easy to intermediate.  For more extreme adventures, Sunset Park Outdoor Recreation Tours offer day trips including more extreme biking adventures, rafting, hunting, fishing, skiing, bungee jumping, ski-diving, and ballooning.

The Second Building

As the park grows, our facilities grow. Guest comfort is of utmost importance.  Is easier to relax when you're comfortable. The improved washrooms allow for the expansion of the campground.

The Campground

Campground patrons enjoy private and community firepits.  The campground layout provides each site with privacy yet quick access to a community spot.  There are many possibilities for individuals or groups.  Many groups stay 2 nights and book an adventure in the middle.  

Sunset Ridge prides itself in having high quality fire pits

We like a good fire and hope that you do too!  For safety, fires are only allowed in designated areas with readily accessible water.  A person in charge must be documented at the office for every fire pit at the park.

With the campground growing, the amenities grow

A central office becomes a necessity

to manage the campground and coordinate property maintenance.

The central office is also the living quarters for the campground manager.

The success of the campground creates a demand for rental cabins

Sunset Ridge has many unique cabins for rent.  Cabins at the park can accomodate 2-12 people. Reservations are recommended for larger groups.

The gardens are simple but well kept

Many groups adopt an area of the park to develop and manicure.  Visit the office to adopt a garden.

Notice the all natural background! The grassy hill at Sunset Ridge isn't just for picnics anymore. Bring your instruments and practice your dance.   Add to the vibe.     The stage may also be booked for private events. Check the schedule.

Sunset Park Outdoor Recreation Tours

For the more adventurous types, outdoor recreation tours are available starting from the park.   The Outdoor Recreation cabin books trips and schedules shuttles. SPORT Tours include:  Ballooning Biking Bungee Jumps Climbing Fishing  Hunting Rafting Ski Diving  Skiing Supergood Bus!

Enjoy a variety of day trip adventures while staying at Sunset Ridge

All of these activities can be booked through the Outdoor Recreation Office.  Call ahead for larger groups!

Of Course Sunset Ridge hosts mountain climbing trips

Groups must have at least 6 climbers. Call ahead for reservations or lessons!

Cross country skiing trails have convenient access from the park

Ski right from the Guest House or shuttle to other nearby trails.

Patron support helps build paved paths for road bikes, blades, and skates
Thanks to the many supergood patrons of Sunset Ridge! 

The plan is for all paved paths to be one-way so as to avoid collisions.  Bikers and skaters can challenge their limits fearless of oncoming traffic.

As traffic grows, services grow

The General store serves campers and visitors.  Additional infrastructure is added and bath houses improve.

The cabin business grows.

Once multiple income streams are flowing, construction of the Guest House can begin.

The Guest House/Reception Hall becomes the new park centerpiece

The Guest House sits at the top of the original grassy hill.  The big deck out back looks down the hill and out toward the sunset.  The deck is a community area for everyone registered at the park.

The Guest House includes:
  - a large banquet/reception hall (the center room with the large windows)
  - a large deck with sunset views
  - a large commercial kitchen with several cooking stations
  - the new main office
  - offices for rent
  - conference rooms for rent on the 2nd level
  - an apartment style suite
  - public restrooms
  - guest fitness room with showers
  - 6 motel style guest rooms (guests can use the common commercial kitchen) 

The Reception Hall at the Guest House is perfect for a variety of events
  - Yoga & Meditation retreats
  - Church groups
  - Youth groups 
  - Scouts
  - Weddings
  - Parties
  - Social events
  - with the facilities listed above, the possibilities are endless. 

The Guest House and cabins have several hot tubs available to guests

After the Guest House is complete, several other businesses will appear at the park.  
The chronological sequence has yet to be determined but here are a few.

Yoga & Mediation studios are available for rent to groups.

Sunset Ridge has yoga and meditation classes and retreats.

Studios are equipped for dance & exercise as well.  

Retreats organizers can offer these activities to their groups.  Sunset Ridge can arrange instructors for your group.  The banquet hall in the Guest House also serves as a dance hall.    

Another central building at Sunset Ridge is the Imaginarium Art Studio.

The art studio allows guests and guest artists to create on site using several different medium.  Artists and aspiring artists can create with paper, canvas, clay, glass, wood, and metal.  

Artists' works are sold on consignment in the Imaginarium Gallery.

The Imaginarium Gallery draws a crowd.

Local artists staying at Sunset Ridge host events and exhibitions in the gallery.  

Imaginarium scuptures compliment the park setting

Working with the landscape team, artists add decor to the property: bird houses, fountains, sculptures, etc.  The Imaginarium Gallery extends from a physical building out into the park.

Snow Machine tours are available in the winter.

Sunset Ridge is adjacent to National Forest area allowing for a wide range of touring possibilities.

Quad tours use many of the same trails in the summer.

A melding of mentalities

Sunset Ridge is a Pro-Peace, Pro-People, Pro-Planet retreat celebrating earth loving people. Fortunately Sunset Ridge is big enough to accommodate peaceful mediation and yoga at one end of the park with snow machines and quads at the other end.  They are far enough apart that everyone may live in harmony.  Most of the quad trails are off the Sunset Ridge property.

The Lodge is a common area available to all registered guests

The Lodge is your home away from home. It has a large living area and kitchen. There are several fire places. The Lodge is a good place to relax, visit, and gather. The loft area has a pool table and bar. The Lodge is adaptable for a variety of events. The lodge is available to all registered guests 24 hours, unless privately booked.

The Stage gets an upgrade

The side of the hill closest to the stage is terraced.   The grassy hill remains grassy but stone steps are added between the terraced levels. The backdrop behind the stage stays pure and natural.

A shuttle bus is available to take guests back and forth from the airport and front range destinations.

Ride in style. Regular trips to DIA. Schedule the shuttle from many front range destinations.

The Game Room at Sunset Ridge is the ultimate 21st Century Man Cave

The Game Room has a bar, billiard tables, video games, dart boards, and enough HDTVs to watch every NFL game every Sunday.  Open in the evenings, for special events, and for NFL games.

Guest support helps build more fun structures: Lookouts!

These towers provide rest and shelter for tired hikers or those caught in rain storms.

The Science Lab is in partnership with the local university and schools

More gardens are cultivated as the park grows
